Oh, yeah .. and I forgot to mention .. the story about the star on the duvet just isn't true!!!! Someone was messing around. Emma was still rather starry eyed when she compiled this book of letters. She just asked people to write in when she was studying the subject at university.

If some people can't read, and I know some people have difficulty .. sometimes because it's harder for them to see that words can be split into little segments and the sounds from these segments can be put together to form words .. and you're interested .. firstly, they must know people who can read .. who can tell them the best bits from the book etc. Not quite the same as reading it but it's getting there.

My friend, who I mentioned a while back, who couldn't read, is getting on quite well. He did have a small word recognition before he started learning again, but not much, and he's enjoying himself learning now.

Still, if he hadn't learnt, guess, someone would've discussed it all with him just in general conversation.

Been in touch with the hospital but have still some more to do. More or less sorted out now though.
