Sleeping .. or, not sleeping ....
Dozed off yesterday evening in front of the pooter .. which was good I guess .. but I'm feeling tired again this morning .. woke up early .. just after seven!! I hoped it would be around 10 .. but there u go!!! Last night I dozed in and out of sleep quite a bit.
I've suggested to a couple of friends, because another friend suggested it to me, that they try a short run of sleeping pills, just four or five days, to see if that'll establish a good sleeping pattern again. Other people have told me that the sleeping pills you get now don't have the knock out effect the next morning that ones from years ago did so there shouldn't be any problems .. especially just for a few days.
I've said that because I'm taking so much medication at the moment .. especially pain relief .. that I think I'll give it a miss right now .. but if there comes a time when I can reduce the pain relief and I still find that I'm not sleeping well, I'll give a short run of them a try. I think it's breakthrough pain that wakes me up. But, if that ever lessens and I can reduce the pain medication then I'd certainly give a short run of sleeping pills a go if I still found that I was having trouble sleeping. Best for now that I just treat the pain I think.
I'm still not a fan of taking pills and potions. I have to now but still want to limit my medication to what is really needed .. and, that's a lot right now .. though me steroids are down to a maintenance dose of 10mgs a day ..letting the steroid sparing drugs take over .. I take mycophenolate (Cellcept) as the steroid sparing medication .. tried another one to start off with, can't remember what it was called, but it didn't suit me at all .. this is much better. Infact it seemed to produce a side effect that you'd've expected from the steroids themselves .. when I switched to the other steroid sparing drug, the mycophenolate, the side effect went .. don't know if the side effect was a result of the steroids and the steroid sparing drug together .. or, if it was just from the steroid sparing drug itself.
