This is an update on what has happened concerning Ayaan Hirsi Ali and the way her situation was handled by Immigration Minister Rita Verdonk. This is remembering that Ayaan Hirsi Ali had been quite open about the situation for a number of years.

I suppose I have to say that it had always been in the air that she would retain her citizenship, but the way the situation was handled was beyond belief in my opinion, given the situation concerning another MP who had been open for years about these facts and who was also under a lot of pressure.

This was confirmed a couple of days ago. But it hasn't been enough to save the government.
